To assist people in Butler and Armstrong Counties, Pennsylvania who are blind or vision impaired lead more worthwhile and independent lives, and to help prevent blindness among the seeing population.
Our Purpose
To establish and maintain a census of residents in the counties who are blind or vision impaired and a bureau of information on those served.
To establish, equip, and maintain programs county-wide as may seem necessary to carry out the mission of this Corporation.
To assist in obtaining employment opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired through advocacy, referral or agency employment.
To provide a measure of recreation,entertainment, and life skills education so that people who are blind or vision impaired may live more enriched and independent lives.
To provide a vision screening program, independently and in cooperation with the educational and health agencies, wage a campaign for the prevention of blindness so that those still possessing sight may conserve that sight.
To educate and arouse the seeing public of this community to a clearer and fairer conception of the capabilities and needs of people who are blind or vision impaired so that the community might help them constructively, intelligently, and in a manner wholesomely sympathetic.
To solicit funds to be used to assist people who are blind or vision impaired and in the prevention of blindness.
